How I While Away My Days
I know some of you must be thinking I've turned into this ultimate housewife and that you career people will never have good conversation topics with me from now on because I can't identify with any of you.
It may be true.
I also know some of you might wonder what I do all day at home (since you can probably infer from the lack of Facebook pictures that I don't go out much). I assure you that I've been productive. By "productive", I mean I've been surfing a lot of:
http://diyallthings.blogspot.com
http://www.buzzfeed.com (for the life hacks, mind you)
http://rasamalaysia.com
...and various other educational websites. Before the end of these two years, I will be supermom material (only without the kids, hopefully) and have all the solutions to your household needs, wants, and demands. And also be a master chef.
Or not, considering the guys pretty much chomp up whatever I conjure up in the kitchen without much constructive advice. It's nice that Jia Wern's so accepting and not in the least bit picky, but it does make me wonder how I'm ever going to improve. =P
The point is, I find it easy to get obsessed about new topics. Since my main role is to feed the two boys and also myself, I spend a lot of time looking up recipes (and cooking hacks, I might add) to learn as much as I can about my trade. I love learning, and even if this doesn't fit the traditional idea of intellectually stimulating subjects, trust me, it can be consuming (haha pun). It's also so rewarding because I don't have to spend lots of money eating mere sandwiches and bagels. Rice and Asian dishes ftw.
So nope, I'm not bored yet.
I've also used the extra time on my hands to learn more about the Bible and read it more often, which is something I've put off during my college years. But now that I'm having a sabbatical of sorts, I should really brush up on my Bible knowledge and immerse myself in the Word.
Besides that, I also read a lot. I've read around 10 books the past three months, and it's just been lovely having the leisure time to read.
I've also been catching up on drama series' like Malcolm in the Middle on Netflix. Just making up for lost time during my childhood. =P
Trust me, time just flies during the day with all these activities.
It's ok, when you working women become mums, we'll have something to talk about again. =P

Is there a way for me to follow your blog? I don't see a "follow" button but would like to be notified if you have new posts lol.
ReplyDeleteI really don't know. I'm hopeless at tech, but some friend of mine uses RSS feed (I don't know what that is, really, but I think that's what she said xD). Or you could just check it periodically! Haha
