Updates
Brrr. Hurricane Matthew ushered in a cold spell, and I've been bundled up like nobody's business for the past few days. Even Jasmine spends most of the day hibernating, so it's not just me and my whiny self. A part of me is crying blue murder since I can't believe summer's ended. I even checked the weather forecast for the next 10 days, hoping desperately that it's going to get warmer.
You can't blame me - hurricanes don't happen every day and this colder weather might just be a temporary thing. =P
This week's not going to get much better, but I see a few spots of sunshine (read: >70 degrees Fahrenheit weather) next week. The last remnants of summer! I just bought some nice summer outfits on sale, so I'm still hoping for a chance to debut them. Speaking of which, end-of-season sales are the best time to shop for summer outfits. Summer clothes are really the only outfits that I should buy at this point, given that we're planning to go back to Malaysia sometime next year, and Malaysia only has two weather forecasts: Hot or rainy. This cold weather is making me look forward to my trip back in a month's time!
I've been doing so much shopping lately. Shopping for gifts, for clothes, for whims and fancies. Reasons for this shopping spree include:
- I've been getting some side income.
- I've been curbing my urges for well over a year.
- I'm going home for a visit and I just wanna shower gifts and blessings upon everyone!
I know it doesn't seem like I curb my urges a lot, given how often I mention my love for shopping. But there's a fine line between shopping and buying, and I tend to browse more than I actually buy. I definitely enjoy the process of window shopping and browsing because it's fun and therapeutic. Spending, on the other hand, is a whole different story.
Of course, compared to Jia Wern, I'm a spendthrift. But that's because he's practically an ascetic. It's quite unfair to compare us both. He wears the same clothes until holes appear in them or I make them appear. His reasoning is that he saves so that I can spend, which I'm hardly inclined to argue with. =P
Okay now I have to get back to my content-writing job. Or take a nap. Tough choice.
